Give me volume and shape and were on board. The fall 2012 Juuj J collection was recently presented and in our eyes it definitely didn't disappoint. The geometric pocket shapes were the small details in this collection that made us fall in love. I love how the staple black pieces where shown, and at the end three printed garments that were reminescent of a 'new wave Mona Lisa' came into view.

With the mass amount of success the Rick Owens brand has recieved over the last five years or so, its refreshing to see his menswear collections. Although his color palette is pretty consistent, the proportions and construction are always executed differently. With his newly presented F/W 2012-13 collection we noticed how tailored the clothes were than from the past. I have a strong premonition that pieces from this show will be seen alot more than ever.

Oh beautiful sunday - Well, not really. We're finally starting feel some real winter temperature on the east coast out of no-where. Though it was a bone-chilling day, it was also a very sunny one, so it was a perfect day for my Alexandra Cassaniti sunglasses. Not a fan a fan of coats so much, in 18 degree weather i decided to wear my ol' faithful leather topman jacket, layered over on of my good friends designs, Maya of MB999. These two pieces together make my winter coat. I've kinda been into hats lately - moreless baseball caps.

... I finally got my hands on a denim jumpsuit. Seen on the Margiela, Celine and Derek Lam runway in the past seasons - I was constantly inspired and reminded that my life would likely not be complete without one. Completely appropriate for today.

With me purchasing my first bag within the first two weeks of the new year starting - i can already tell that this is going to be another bag lady-man year. Honestly, these aren't even half of the man bags/clutches in my life, but the most special. The Pepsi mini-backpack being a thrift find during my first trip to L.a. Then comes my Alexander Wang "jade" Stingray skin box clutch (2011 splurge) My ostrich skin Gucci clutch that i use as a wallet was given to me by Grandmother this past Christmas and you already know about my baby in the back.

How many bags does one man need? Does it matter? If it catches and keep my attention - ITS MINE!

I knew there was something special about this bag when i first laid eyes on it. I visited my local thrift store and under a sea of damaged, repulsive bags i found a jem! When my hands touched this foam, rounded rectangle - it was love at first grip. I am now the proud owner of a piece of art created by Karim Rashid - I had no clue who Rashid was prior to purchasing this bag, but I so fucking glad i did! After doing a little research on kingpin - I'm now a huge fan of his craft. Its one thing to know how to master the art of creating the perfect bag, but when a person is able to use their gift of creating to do so much more ei: shoes, watches, garments, furniture etc - you become a true mastermind/artist in my eyes.

Yes, i do think this beaut was made for lugging a laptop around, but i already covered that - So say hello to my new everyday bag.

There aren't too many full collections that i have fallen in love with lately, let alone a womens collection. Honestly, it was in 2009 when i first gained interest in the brand Celine, lord and be-hold, that was the same year Phoebe Philo became creative director of the fashion house. I didn't think i would be able to put into words how much this collection may have changed my life. How could one person combine every length, shades and shape i aspire to wear for the rest of being. From the white and black 70's go-go boots, to the full leather look with matching patent loafters - From the fur skirt with matching top, to the model clutching the Celine mega bag like a clutch. I have truly been touched, in all the right places. Pre-Fall and resort collections need runway show and this collection is a key reason why.

I've been a fan of Charlies' work for some time now and I really don't remember why didn't post this video when I first laid eyes on it , but anyway - here you have it. There are shows like this that make me what to pack up all my things and move to London. Has Nyfw lost its touch? What happened to designers putting on a SHOW when presenting their collections? So, winter has finally hit New York. [ Besides the snow we had in October ] I went out the other night and literally almost froze to death. I'm not one to check the forecast before leaving my place - i take the elements on day-by-day [ global warming plays a role in this] One day it may be a high of 66° and the next 35° in the city, so I had to actually experience cold temps. at least three days to take the next step to of buying a coat for Winter 11 -12.
I've been in love with exposed metal zippers for quite some time now - being that i add zippers to everything i own, why not to my winter coat? There was no time to order a coat from online, so the next step was to head to my local consignment shop. That's where i found this floor length Harve Benard wool beauty. I've seen this coat before, but since i wasn't black i wasn't too fond of it. Then i thought to myself, "why not try something new this year?" - I've worn black coats for the past three winters.

These elbow-length gloves are actually a project I'm working on as well. You can detach the forearm leather so that they're just everyday leather gloves.

-Your models could remind someone of a 21 century Tina Chow , what kind of women do you like to dress ?

I dress women who take risks with their way of dress. a woman who has a sense of adventure.

-The Fall 2010 collection had a lot of edgy pieces being your first collections, how important was that collection to you in fully establishing yourself ?

I think that collection was crucial to my beginnings as a designer. I found that creating these capsules has been a sure way of putting myself and my design skills out there.

-Your “Sangre” Fall 2011 seems to play with hard and soft detailing. How do you make so many elements work so cohesively ?

There’s a necessary balance needed in creating clothes, I think as long as you are in control of your materials you can do as much as you want in a piece.

It is for sure, there’s always more pressure on the designer to make sure what you make will impress your celebrity client and be worn on a larger stage.

-What roll has music played in your creations ?

Music plays a huge roll in what I do, its my endless source of inspiration.

-If you can dress anyone artist alive or dead , who would it be and what would you put them in ?

I think i would have loved to dress Marchesa Luisa Casati who was an amazing Italian socialite.

-The color black is pretty apparent along with nudes and creams , what do those mean you ?

I think its just the mood I was in at the time, I went through a phase where I only wanted to make black/dark clothing

-Who did you look up to growing up , did they have an affect on your fashion work today ?

I look up to my grandmother, one of the strongest woman I know. She taught me a lot about what I know and brought necessary wisdom into my work.

I think I'm getting pretty good at this bag making thing. Here is the second sample vinyl "grocery" bag. My everyday black bag that i got from the thrift was put to rest yesterday after a year of stuffing my entire life in it. I've realized that if i have a big bag, I am going to want to fill it with as much things that i feel like i would need that day. Which will accumulate, because i never ever really empty my bag out ( unless i can't find my cellphone ) so sooner or later I'm basically living out of my bag. This 18 x 7 inch bag will help me cut back on packing unnecessary things, which will ultimately get me out my apartment faster ( I hope. )

-What’s the fashion scene like in South Asia, and where are you from ?
 In Korea, for teens: avant-garde, funky in general (in my opinion), grunge, dandy and just typical Asian cute ones.  -I noticed a lot of black pieces that you wear, is that a must have for you ?  Not like a must have ,but I just naturally and unconsciously don't even take a look at colorful pieces when shopping.  Black is just stable, simple but charming. I always try to make my outfits not to be boring although they're all black from head to toe.

 -What’s different about traveling from New York To South Asia ?
 I've only been to NYC through movies and books. From my experiences of vacations in other countries, even people's trivial behaviors are different.  We tend not to be that out-going, talk about trivial things to strangers, and there are not that enough "cool" and huge vintage/thrift shops here.  There are lots of select (multi) shops and most teens know quite well about designers' brands. It's cool but it's sometimes sad when they seem to prefer brands just because they're brands.  

-What do you do in your spare time ?
 Wandering with my cameras and iPod, hanging out with my friends, dancing, thinking, looking at the night sky!  -How do you pronounce your name ?  Literally H + yo and in and bei. so, Hio-in Bei! my nickname is Hyoni though.  -

What’s your take on American fashion ?
 It's like a big rainbow to me. very various since it's the hugest multi cultural country. but whenever I think of American fashion, it makes me think of shorts, tanning and slippers first. sexy and liberal in general.

Made in Spain, these 2 1/2 inch "creeper / military" like boots are the perfect shoe to add a little kick to any ensemble. Last night around 9pm i started yet another overwhelming project that lasted about 5 hrs. Out of no where i thought "I want a poncho." - and since I'm no good at pattern making i decided to use some other resources. This past weekend i stumbled upon a YSL oversized blazer at a consignment shop in North Carolina ( fyi: North Carolina thrifts are a force to be wrecked with! ) and since an oversized blazer is just simply an over sized blazer: something needed to be done. So, here you have it -my new and improved YSL "Batman" cape. Yup, custom d.i.y by thou. Can you believe the pointed shoulders happened by accident? This inherited 70's sewing machine is changing my wardrobe one day at a time.

I ran into a old lumber-jack flannel and a 4x black t-shirt (don't ask) After not doing too much brain storming - before i knew it i was at my sewing machine again. This combo is a product of random boredom, the need of new layers and simply me not loving throwing away garments. I don't know why, but the longer i have something in my possession (wearing it or not) i feel like its a piece of me and i never want to get rid of it. I think this upcoming fall/winter i want all my layers to be ankle length of longer.

This damn sewing machine is literally taken over my life! (totally not complaining) It's making we want to make something out of nothing everyday! If i don't wear, i will soon after a brief stitching.

Yesterday i celebrated my 22 birthday! The day i thought i officially became a man felt a little awkward being that my age fueled the illusion of me seeing eye wrinkles that morning around my eyes, but after a morning birthday shot and breakfast i felt a little better. Nothing major happened, i just stayed home and thought about my 22 years of life with my best-friend whom just turned 22 two weeks prior. She got me a piece of red-velvet cake and I stuck my last cigarette in it and took the picture above. Hopefully, the quitting of cigs helps my youth river flow for as much time as possible!

As you all may know; I'm sorta, kinda in lust with Rad Hourani. Once again he strikes with another breathtaking origami like collection. I'm getting paper cuts just looking at these images. I honestly don't think any of my outfits are complete without my Rad by Rad Hourani jacket and though i would love to splurge on a jacket from his main line ( as we all do, i'm sure ) Its not,yet a part of my budget. Is it weird that I get just as much enjoyment in looking at these mouth watering photographs as i would wearing them?

If you don't know who Vidal Sassoon is then you need to study your fashion history. Although this man was a hair stylist he created a movement in fashion which inspiration is still drawn from today. From the MOD era, to short, blunt, angled hair cuts, his story is powerful. And luckily his documentary is now showing on Showtime.

About a month ago my Grandmother gave me one of ancient sewing machine. I didn't think i would get much use of it being that i was a fashion design major for a few semester until i realized i loved everything about design besides the actual construction portion and then changed my major. I'm now aware that it wasn't that i hated sewing; I just didn't like having to construct things i wasn't passionate about just for a grade. I like to do things on my own time basically. Anyway, the machine was in perfect working condition, which was pretty shocking since she bought this 25 pound stitching monster in the 70s. I have a lot of D.I.Y ideas in mind and have already started on a few.

first things first: add zippers to every pair of pants i own.

Thinking about all the amazing affairs that have happened to me in this past year is a bit overwhelming, but i holds no match to the many groundbreaking business to come. I got some amazing news today that I can't talk about too much right now - but don't say i didn't give you guys a heads up. Besides that - ITS FALL! Time for endless draping, leather over leather, knee high boot... the works! Sadly we've (New York) have been stuck in summer this past week, but with this past weekend came weather that I don't think anyone was prepared for. ITS FREEZING - OUT OF NOWHERE! I don't even own a coat yet; well at least a coat that i didn't wear/work to the bone these past fall/winter's. Its time for me to revamp my fall wardrobe; being that i haven't done any major shopping during the summer (because i dread the summer season) I need to crwal out my little hole in the wall and get to work.

This past NYFW I had chance to catch with my good friend/designer Maya ( MB999 ) while she was in town from Cali. When she told me she flew over her with pieces from her ss12 collection i knew that my life would not be complete without viewing it in person, and of course trying on all over mouth watering leathers. This collection was inspired by a trip she took to Cambodia. "I imagine the experience of the western explorers in the late 1800's, discovering these wonders for the first time. They were travelers, crossing barriers of time, and culture. They became weathered, darkened, their clothes tattered, repurposed, and transformed to meet the needs of their expedition. " For the color palette, she looked to the natural patina of time, exhibited on the temple stones.

All the wovens are hemp/cotton blends imported from Japan, and garment washed. Yarns and Lambskin imported from Italy. Everything is constructed in the United States.

Let me first start by stating that I'm in lust with the entire Jeffery Campbell "First" Mens collection. I'm actually for any designer whom designs mens heels. Here you have JC Areas boots courtesy of solestuck.com. Sadly i had to retire my Georgia Brutini boots after wearing them almost every day for the past year and a half, but these beauts are the perfect replacement. The wooden 2 inch heels moves me from 6'0 to 6'2 instantly - What men wouldn't want some extra inches?

Though these boots are lust worthy alone; i also thought - What would take these babies to the next level? So, i added my vintage boot covers and they made the perfect match without overwhelming the entire look.

Gucci Museum opens up in Florence.

Usually dont post these types of things, but you have to give Gucci as a brand its respect. The luxury brand recently opened up an entire mueseum dedicated to its work. Ranging from fashion to luggage to houseware to automobiles. Generations of trails and success. Just in time for their 90th anniversary. Congrats.
